8:00-12:00 AM: Building and managing production systems with preparedness and resiliency; Your role in developing a Secure Beef Supply (SBS) Plan, an effort to provide protection for your ranch and ensure continuity in the supply of beef in the event of a major animal disease outbreak; This will be a hands-on exercise using the Animal Science Department’s facilities and livestock. 8:30-9:30: Selecting fertile heifers. Reproductive Tract Scoring, selecting the early breeders, etc.
9:30-10:30: Evaluating Breeding Soundness: Possible New Approaches, Tom Hairgrove, Department of Animal Science, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
10:30-12:30: I vaccinate my cows and test my bulls, and they have suboptimal reproduction. What's wrong? Bull fertility, what's new? Cow fertility, what's new?
